Warning: Webfusion

I had the unfortunate pleasure of using a UK host by the name of webfusion recently. Do not use this company or an affiliated reseller. Bad service, bad product and deliberate attempts to take your money make it the WORST hosting provider around.

To really bring home the point after using thier service for about 48 hours I did a googel search on webfusuion review and webfusion quality. Try it yourself and you will see dozens more very unhappy customers. Now whilst I cant vouch for them I will let you in on my experience.

Now I had to run a special script from a UK host. I found webfusion who looked like a suitable solution. I started with the smallest plan (knowing it would probably not be capable of meeting my needs) but it was worth a shot. It took 4 days before my account was set up which is totally unacceptable. However I was happy to have my hosting account so I set up the script.

As hypothesised it was insufficent so I then emailed support to find out which plan offered would meet my needs. 2 days later and no reply I went to a high level plan which would comfortably handle my script. It didnt and I was given no reason why.

So with most hosting plans I emailed thier billing and sales departments to have my account cancelled. Again I had no reply to my emails and was charged another months fee. I read the FAQ and realised that you could not cancel within 30 days (essentially having to pay a nother fee minimum) but also that you need to phone them to cancel.

Living half a world away my phone call had to be out of hours for me but I thought it best to have it done. 2 phone calls and 3 hours later I managed to get hold of nobody and effectively was at sqaure one. Having no other option I had my financial institution cancel the payment and ironically have had plenty of emails saying my account is overdue.

In summary use this experience to learn off and never use Webfusion.
