Rating Content Design As the Blogosphere (the world of blogs) continues to expand it seems that everybody wants to have a website with a personal blog.  The question has always been “How do I set it up and how do I get people to visit it?”  There are many sites that tell you how to set up a blog and there are many sites that show you techniques to get visitors.  ThaSlayer.com combines design, setup, and promotion all in one site. Content () ThaSlayer.com is a blog based website with many how-to articles with subjects ranging from designing a website to step-by-step installation tutorial for WordPress (the webs #1 blogging software).  Not only does this website offer the tutorials and how-to articles, it also offers personal experiences of the author, some successful, some not so successful.Overall TheSlayer.com is an informative page.  It gives some great ideas on how to get a website going and get people to that site.  I would like to see some more in depth information on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and maybe even link building.  I would also like to see more information on the design and marketing successes and failures of TheSlayer.com.  When reading a blog about web design and marketing I love seeing quite a bit about personal experience as well as how to articles. Screen Shot Design () I found the ads on the right side bar above the navigation links to be quite obtrusive and they make navigation a little more difficult.  If I have to scroll past ads to navigate I always deduct at least 1 star from the rating. Conclusion If you are thinking about setting up a website, or already have one and would like to gather some ideas on how to improve, ThaSlayer.com is a good site to start.  I would not recommend copying their ad placement, but all-in-all it is a good site! It seems that when you look for a movie review on the Internet most of the reviews you will find look like the movie studios themselves write them.  Finding an honest review of a movie can help you make the decision to see the movie or not.  Enter TheCriticalCritics.com.

TheCriticalCritics.com gives honest reviews of Hollywood films, brutally honest.  There are six guys that are all movie buffs that review just about all popular film releases.  With archives ranging back to February of 2005 they have quite the extensive list of movie reviews.

It does seem that the reviewers of this site are a little bitter with Hollywood.  Many of their reviews are extremely negative, to the point of vulgar.  I would not recommend this site for children or for those who take offense easily.  While I disagree with some of their reviews and many of their review techniques I do enjoy the site.

This site has a simple and easy to navigate layout.  The logo is very entertaining as are many of the visuals on the site.  With the creativity the logo displays it makes me wonder why there is not more creativity in the rating system.

Conclusion:
Overall the entire site is entertaining and somewhat informative.  Even when I don’t agree with the reviews I still find myself enjoying reading them.  I would like to see less profanity and maybe a better visual for the rating system, but these two issues will not stop me from visiting this site again.

If not for the profanity this site would have received 4 stars.

Pros: Honest reviews, not Hollywood affiliated
Cons: Profane, sometimes offensive

Online video games have become one of the best ways to kill time at home or even at work.  There are many sites online that offer free video games and one that offers over a thousand different games in many different categories is Star-Game.net.

Star-Game.net offers games in categories ranging from casino type games to action/adventure type games all the way to puzzle games.  All of the games are Macromedia Flash based so they are quick loading (if you do not have Macromedia Flash installed it is a quick download and install). 

This website offers some of the most popular flash based games on the Internet.  I don’t know what it is about Dirt Bike 2 that is so addictive.  The graphics are not that good, the game play is sluggish and not very responsive, and over all it is not that challenging of a game, BUT I cant seem to stop playing it.  And there are many other games on this site that are just like Dirt Bike 2

While this site offers a large verity of games it offers many games that can be found on other websites around the net.  I have not found many games that are unique to Star-Game.net and some of the games have advertisements built into the game.  I would like to see some more games that are unique and I do not find the advertisements to be overbearing (as some ads are expected on free sites).

Pros:  Thousands of games to choose from, addictive.
Cons:  Not very unique, no reward system (that I could find)

 A growing trend in home interior design is to build a home theater.  Some homes are even replacing their family rooms with home theaters.  AudioVideoInteriors.com chronicles this trend with a frequently updated blog based website.

With featured home theaters from professional installers as well as do-it-yourselfers AudioVideoInteriors.com have profiles of many home theaters from low budget to ultra high budget.  The website also offers reviews of equipment, some informative how-to articles, and industry news.

If you are thinking about installing a theater in your home this is a good website to stop by and do quite a bit of reading.  It is great for giving ideas and to show what others have done.  Although I would like to see more Start-to-Finish journals of home theater installs, I still found the site entertaining and informative.

Pros: Informative, entertaining.
Cons: Needs better organization, needs more Start-to-Finish journals

After playing the Nintendo Wii for a few hours at a close friends house my arms were sore and my legs were burning.  This video game system requires you to use your body movements to make the actions on the screen happen, and with this in mind many people have started to use the Nintendo Wii as an exercise platform.  WiiHealthy.com is a website dedicated to this phenomenon.

WiiHealthy.com is a blog based website that focusing on using the Wii to help you loose weight or stay in shape all while having fun.  This website has frequent product announcements and tracks release dates very closely of products for the Wii that may aid in weight loss.

This website has a great concept with execution that is a little bit on the poor side.  The site is a little difficult to navigate, as ads are placed above the navigation links and scrolling is required to get to the links.  WiiHealthy.com also has many posts about the same topic, the Wii Fit product, and while it is very targeted to their audience it is over saturated.

This site offers a few great ideas and has the potential to be a great site.  Until more development is put into the site and a little more creative writing I am only going to recommend this site for a quick read just to give an idea about the subject matter.
